Exercise and being active in general is a necessity in anybody’s life.
I was never one to get heavily involved with school sport, I wish I was natural at it – but honestly I’m one of those uncoordinated girls who always got hit in the head with the ball.
However I have always been fairly active whether it be on holidays or when we are up the river, from quad bike riding to wakeboarding – I do it all!
Lately, I’ve been trying to develop a stable routine with exercise a few times a week. I used to go for morning walks, the occasional hike up Morialta Falls and my latest being Kick Boxing. I wouldn’t call myself ‘unfit’ or ‘unmotivated’, I love being active and I love the feeling afterwards (aside from the aches and pains). I’m just looking for something to be feasible and interesting enough for me to persist with.
The other morning, when we got the huge black out – lots of the street lights were out which delayed traffic – enormously. So on my way to Kickboxing, aside from a little drama with my blood sugar levels, I arrived 30 minutes late and I was too embarrassed to walk in to the class mid lesson and start participating so I drove home. Afterwards I was feeling disappointed in myself, thinking if only I got there earlier….
The last time I went I was getting dizzy spells – which could have been an effect from my blood sugar levels dropping etc –where exercise would have been the perfect solution and smoothed out my levels, but the nausea got the better of me and I had to sit out on some parts.
So what’s the solution? I don’t know, all I know is I’ve been rambling for the last few sentences. What I do know is, I’ll find it, whatever that may be, hikes, walks, swims, boxing – I have to be able to commit to one don’t I? We can only hope!
I hope you are all keeping active in your lives!
Until next time
